Bertie is adopted

Hi, my name is Bertie and I’m 2.5 yrs young.

As you can tell from the photos with my furry foster brothers, I am a rather tall Beagle… it may have something to do with the Kelpie or Collie mixed into my DNA. Don’t let that put you off though, as I am a gentle giant. I love attention, cuddles, pats… love it all. I have a tendency to sit on or push in between any competition for those snuggles, pats and sooky loves.

I was surrendered to BRQ from the Bundy pound, as I was found wondering the streets… I have been in foster care on a farm with 2 smaller sized doggies and was loving it. My bestie, Moto is a Bluegle (Blue Smithfield x Beagle).

The foster furry Brothers helped me learn the ropes of farm life, even the naughty ropes like rushing to the fences and barking at the Billy Goats when they get too close to the house yard. And of course, Bertie is loving every minute of it. Bertie says, in his defence.. he is protecting the foster family from all things that wonder near or past the house yard.

My best features are my manners and I can walk fairly well on a lead… yep, she typed that.. not a typo!! Must be the working dog DNA.. haha 🙂 I love my food, yep no surprise there.. but a little too much that it is necessary to be fed alone. He prefers the company of his human over furry friends, otherwise he gets a little noisy… my foster dad takes me with him around the farm, whilst he works, I keep busy protecting the shed.  My loves are playing,  my hoomans, sleeping and eating! I sound too good to be true right? So who wants me to snuggle with me furever?

Lately our foster carer has noticed Bertie is definitely not a farm dog and prefers to be the only furry one around. He is becoming aggressive towards the goats and other furry ones around, Bertie prefers all the attention on him, so will suit an only dog home.

We are looking for a new foster carer, foster to adopt or adopting family for Bertie. Bertie is microchipped and de-sexed, up to date in vaccinations and flea/worm preventatives… He is located near Bundaberg, we can and will transport Bertie for the perfect family. We want Bertie to go to a furever home, we are not charging an adoption fee. He has been in foster care for a long time and he really deserves his own furever family.
